Privacy Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation places new obligations on organizations that process personal data of EU residents. As a result, we’ve created this Privacy Statement, which applies to www.corkscrewclub.org, owned and operated by The Canadian Corkscrew Collectors Club (CCCC). This Privacy Statement describes how we collect and use the information, which may include personal data, you provide to the club through our website, and describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal data and how you can access and update this data.

Data Collection

 The personal data that we collect is your first and last name, email address, phone number, home address, and name of spouse/partner/go-with.

We collect only such information as is necessary for the club to function as a group of individuals with like interests. You may always choose what personal data you want to provide to us. However, if you choose not to provide an email address, you will not receive notifications from the CCCC.

You will be asked to confirm what information you wish to share with members on the annual membership list circulated to the membership.

If you do not want your email address published in the “Members Only” area of the website, please contact [email protected].

Processing Purposes

 We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Communication: We use your email address to send you the Quarterly Worme newsletter, and to notify you of club business such as Annual General Meeting agendas a notices of motions and referendums and membership renewal procedures.
  • Subscription fees: We use your personal data to complete and administer your online

Data Sharing

 We do not share data with any third party.

Security

 We use procedures to protect and safeguard information including personal data. Only club members have access to your name and email addresses online, and to a membership list including such details as you have opted to provide. Steering Committee members only are permitted to access personal data kept online in the performance their functions.

Data Retention

 We will retain your information, which may include personal data, for as long as you remain a member of the CCCC, and until July 1 of the year following your last subscription payment. All personal data we retain will be subject to this Privacy Statement.

Your Choices and Rights

 We want you to be in control of how your personal data is used by us. You can do this in the following ways:

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;

You can inform us of any changes to your personal data, or you can ask us to correct any of the personal data we hold about you;

In certain situations, you can ask us to erase, block, or restrict the processing of the personal data we hold about you, or object to particular ways in which we are using your personal data.

Where we are using your personal data on the basis of your consent, you are entitled to withdraw that consent at any time. We rely on you to ensure that your personal data is complete, accurate, and current.
